Many official letters received from many companies/organisations quote the
following “This is a Computer Generated and does not require signature”
I wonder if any of the persons reading this have a given a
thought to it.
What does it mean by “The computer generated letter …..”?
- It will not have any mistakes
- It should be taken for granted
- It cannot be challenged
“This letter is computer generated from our existing records and carry no signature. If however, any clarification/error is observed by the
addressee the same must be brought to the notice of the originator of this
letter. Nil communication within 4 weeks from the receipt of this letter will
mean concurrence on the subject by addressee”
Most importantly such letters should clearly indicate the senders
address for communicating back if required. Failure to do so must make such letters
invalid legally.
